EPEIROS. Ambrakia. Circa 456-426 BC. Stater (Silver, 21 mm, 8.16 g, 4 h). Pegasos flying left with curved wings; before, A; below, serpent coiled around tortoise. Rev. Head of Athena to left, wearing Corinthian helmet; to upper left, A; behind neckguard, kerykeion; all within square incuse. BMC -. Calcaiti 6 (same dies). SNG Copenhagen -. Very rare. Somewhat rough, otherwise, about very fine.
